Esta musica tem uma história algo curiosa. Escrita em 1954, com o titulo “In other words” por um tal de Bart Howard, começou a ser cantada por Felicia Sanders nos bares lá do sítio. Viria a ser gravada pela primeira vez por Kaye Ballard, ainda nesse mesmo ano.
Apenas em 1956 viria a ser conhecida com o nome que ostenta desde então, “Fly me to the moon”, por Johnny Mathis. Vários foram os artistas, muitos deles conhecidos, que recorreram a esta melodia para chegar aos ouvidos do publico. A versão mais conhecida é quase sem duvida a de Frank Sinatra. A mais recente, talvez a de Diana Krall.
Esta é a minha preferida até hoje, interpretada por Tony Bennett.
